At Easy Moving Solutions, we prioritize the safety and security of our clients’ belongings during the moving process. This Liability Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which we operate to protect both our clients and our company.

 Types of Liability:

a. Basic Liability:

    • Easy Moving Solutions assumes basic liability for the items being moved. This liability covers potential damage or loss up to a specified limit based on the weight  of the items being moved. In the event of a claim for damage and of loss, the maximum amount payable by Easy Moving Solutions is sixty ($0.60) cents per pound, per item, up to a maximum of $50. If an item is packed into a box or container by an agent of Easy Moving Solutions, the maximum amount is calculated using the total weight of the packed item.
    • For example: if Easy Moving Solutions damages your night table, it is not liable for more than a total amount of $24.00 (about 40 lbs). 
    • The right is reserved by Easy Moving Solutions to, at its discretion, repair, replace, or pay for any damaged item(s). 
    • While we permit customers to involve their friends and family to expedite the moving process, it’s important to note that doing so will waive the customer’s ability to file any claims for damage or liability against us.

 

b. Additional Valuation Coverage:

    • Clients have the option to purchase additional valuation coverage, which provides extended protection for their belongings during the move. The cost and coverage details will be provided to the client upon request.

 

Exclusions:

Easy Moving Solutions is not liable for the following:

  • Plants or pets.
  • Damage to walls, floors, or fixtures incurred while in the process of facilitating the move.
  • Damage to items that are not packed or unpacked by our staff, unless gross negligence is proven.
  • Damage to the contents of a box unless our staff packed and unpacked the box.
  • Damage caused as a result  a motor vehicle accident involving our truck for which our driver was not at fault, natural disasters, acts of war, terrorism, or other unforeseeable events beyond our control.
  • Loss of function of electronic devices including, but not limited to appliances, televisions, and stereos unless there is visible indication of damage that occurred due to the negligence of the movers. 
  • Loss or damage to items of extraordinary value, unless declared and an additional premium is paid.
  • In the case of damage or loss to an item of a matching set, Easy Moving Solutions will only be responsible for repair, replacement, or recovery of the damage or loss of the item in question and will not be responsible for any of the remaining items in the set, even if the items no longer match after repair, replacement or recovery. 
  • Easy Moving Solutions will not be responsible for damage caused by non-routine moving including but not limited to, standing pieces on end, sharp turns, overcrowded work areas, difficult stairways, snags, and sharp edges in work areas and doorways, handing over balconies, railings, tight squeezes, and damage caused by the weather during the moving process. 
  • Please note that Easy Moving Solutions may use dollies to facilitate removal or placement of appliances, ect. and damage that may result to soft floors, such as, but not limited to, indentation, scuff marks, etc, are not the responsibility of Easy Moving Solutions.
  • Easy Moving Solutions will not be responsible for minor dents or scratches on major appliances.
  • Easy Moving Solutions is not responsible for the working condition of electronic equipment, pianos, grandfather clocks, or any other piece of mechanical equipment. 

 

Client Responsibilities:

a. Proper Packing:

    • Clients are responsible for ensuring that their items are properly packed and labeled before the move. We offer packing services upon request, and if used, liability coverage extends to items packed by our staff.
    • Easy Moving Solutions is not responsible for the items and boxes which have not been packed properly, overloaded, or have not been taped properly. Some extra charges may apply in case of loose items.

b. Communication:

    • Clients must communicate any special handling instructions or concerns about specific items before the move to prevent potential damages.
    • Clients are required to declare items of extraordinary value in writing before the move takes place. This is necessary as there are limits to Easy Moving Solutions’ basic coverage and Easy Moving Solutions may need to contact its insurance company to ensure there is sufficient coverage for the item, should an incident occur. If the item’s extraordinary value is not declared in writing to Easy Moving Solutions prior to the move, Easy Moving Solutions’ liability will be limited to its basic coverage. 

 

5. Filing a Claim:

a. Immediate Notification:

    • In the unlikely event of damage or loss, clients must notify Easy Moving Solutions immediately. It is the responsibility of customers to check their belongings for any damage during the unloading process. Our workers are required to take every precaution to ensure your items get from point A to point B in the safest manner and as such, any issues need to be immediately reported while the workers are still on-site. Easy Moving Solutions will not accept responsibility for any damage reported after its moving representatives have left.  Please note that no claims will be processed until after the original invoice for the job has been paid. 

b. Documentation:

    • Clients must provide photographs, descriptions, and any other necessary documentation of the damaged or lost items to process a claim. To qualify for a claim, you must substantiate that the damage occurred to your belongings while in the care of Easy Moving Solutions. One way to do this is to provide a time stamped picture of the item in question the week prior to the job. Alternatively, you may pay an hourly rate for an Easy Moving Solutions representative to inventory all your possessions. It’s essential to note that without this additional service, the responsibility falls on you to ensure there is evidence demonstrating the damage occurred during the move. This precautionary measure helps safeguard from potential fraud cases, which unfortunately often occur. 

 

Limitation of Liability:

Easy Moving Solutions’ liability for any damage or loss is limited to the coverage selected by the client, as outlined in this policy. We are not liable for any consequential or indirect damages.

Policy Changes:

Easy Moving Solutions reserves the right to modify this liability policy at any time. Clients will be notified of any changes in advance.

By engaging the services of Easy Moving Solutions, clients acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this Liability Policy.

Safety:

Easy Moving Solutions will not move flammables or hazardous material due to safety laws.

Small children and pets must be out of the work area.

Easy Moving Solutions will not connect washer/dryer or ice makers. You or your representative must check or accept any plumbing connections. Any assistance we give is as a courtesy only. Water and drain connections are the responsibility of the customer.

Yes! Easy Moving charges extra for its disassembly and reassembly services. For basic disassembly and reassembly of beds, desks, tables, appliances, and the majority of other common pieces of home and office furniture, our movers will provide toolkits.
